Nothing Is Impossible (Cont'd)
Finally, Jesus asked that when He returns, would He find faith upon the earth? Many times it is when we have come to the end of the road that we demonstrate our faith in God.
Don’t wait till you are at the end of your rope to express aggressive faith.
Say to yourself daily, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”!, Draw strength from Him to do all He has purposed for you to do.
Do not worry because when you worry, it means you do not truly believe God is able to help you.
I encourage you, have faith in Him. Do not doubt His promise to you..The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God, this means that you should not expect to receive anything from God without faith in Him and His word. Your faith may be as small as a mustard seed, but it can still cause God to act on your behalf or give you whatever you need. Jesus told His disciples that with even very little faith, we can move mountains and achieve the seemingly impossible. Jesus was amazed by the persistent faith of Bartimaeus who persistently called out to Jesus till he got his healing. The Canaanite woman who was willing to ‘settle for the crumbs’ just to see her demon-possessed daughter healed. In the Old Testament, Abraham and his wife were promised a son and they waited for many years before the promise came to pass.
Abraham’s faith and absolute obedience even to the instruction to sacrifice Issac amazed and delighted God. So much so that God swore by Himself and pronounced blessings upon Abraham and his descendants forever. God also declared Abraham righteous because he believed Him (Romans 4:3). Zechariah and Elizabeth also released their faith in service to God and He fulfilled His promise to them by giving them John the Baptist. When we believe God and His Word, we give Him great joy. Live a life of faith in God. What has God promised you? Hold on to the promise to the end. Have faith and don’t be moved by what people say or what your situation is saying to you right now. A woman in the Bible who expressed radical faith was the woman with the issue of blood. She interrupted Jesus’ itinerary for that day because she was originally not on His “to-do list”.
He was actually on the way to heal Jairus’ daughter but He allowed the interruption and she received her miracle (Mark 5:25-34). She came behind Jesus in the crowd and touched the hem of His garment. She said to herself, “if only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well”. As she strove to touch Jesus, she was speaking to herself. This is important because you need to check what you are saying to yourself. What are you saying to yourself? What are you allowing people to say to you? It is important you pay attention to your thoughts and words, they carry creative power. This woman KNEW that if she could just touch His garment, she would be made whole. For her, it wasn’t a matter of chance; she knew it was her season that day because she had heard that Jesus was able to heal her.
The story continues that she had suffered many things from physicians but instead of getting better, she got worse. I don’t know what cycles you have not been able to break or maybe it is a negative circumstance that clings to you. You may have tried everything you know, maybe your health has failed or is failing or you are always falling into sin. Whatever it is, it is time for you to have faith in God. It is time for you to experience a turnaround in your life. Be like this woman and say to yourself, “it’s either God or nobody else”.
